The Blue Jays have shown flashes — Bateman's game Friday is proof the talent is there — but the margin for error early in the season is thin, and losses like this one pile up fast if the pitching staff can't find more length and more outs when it matters.
Baltimore, meanwhile, looks like a team building momentum.
